- после установки rp-pppoe, при вводе adsl-setup - пишет неизвестная команда, зато отлично работает команда pppoe-setup, с помощью которой и настраивал соединение.
Привожу пример настройки:

Вввожу client-x.xx

(default eth0): “укажите имя сетевого интерфейса,
подключенного к розетке ( обычно это eth0 )”
Нажимаю enter, так как к eth0 подключен АВКашный кабель
Do you want the link to come up on demand, or stay up continuously?
If you want it to come up on demand, enter the idle time in seconds
after which the link should be dropped. If you want the link to
stay up permanently, enter 'no' (two letters, lower-case.)
NOTE: Demand-activated links do not interact well with dynamic IP
addresses. You may have some problems with demand-activated links.
Enter the demand value (default no): “укажите yes,
если хотите, чтобы соединение подключалось автоматически при запросе.
В противном случае укажите no”
выбираю yes
DNS

FIREWALLING

set up firewalling yourself. Otherwise, the firewall rules will deny

are using SSH, the rules will block outgoing SSH connections which

0 - NONE: This script will not set any firewall rules. You are responsible

- пинг не идет ни на доменные имена, ни айпи адреса. (ping ya.ru или ping 8.8.8.8 висит на строчке пинг, пока не прервешь команду)

Какие адреса ДНС серверов у Вас прописаны? Исходя из кода, который Вы предоставили:

чтобы получать автоматически ДНС - надо вписать 'server'
Если не получится настроить через rp-pppoe,
здесь настройка адсл, со всеми подробностями.
